Crochet Kitten Plushie Free Pattern!


These little kitten plushies make for the perfect gift for any cat-lover :)

I had such a fun time designing these adorable amis, feel free to get creative with the colors you choose! I think the design is perfect to experiment with different shades of yarn or even to use the colors that don't get as much attention in your stash!

Materials

Color A ~150yds RedHeart SuperSaver yarn in Gold (or any color)

Color B ~100yds RedHeart SuperSaver yarn in Carrot (or any color)

9mm safety eyes in black

Stuffing

Tapestry Needle

Crochet 3.5mm hook

Abbreviations

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet

Sl st = slip stitch

Inc = increase

Ears (Make 2)

Round 1: Using color A, ch 2, sc 6 into 2nd ch from hook. (6)

Round 2: *inc, sc 2. Repeat * once. (8)

Round 3: Sc in each st around. (8)

F/o the first ear, DO NOT FASTEN OFF SECOND EAR

With the first ear done and the second ear on your hook, ch 4, sl st into the first ear. Sc in each st around and both sides of the 4chain. You should have a total of 24 st. Now the body continues from this point.

Body (Make 1)

Round 1: Continuing from where you left off on the ears, inc, sc 11, inc, sc 11. (26)

Round 2: inc, sc 12, inc, sc 12. (28)

Round 3: inc, sc 13, inc, sc 13. (30)

Round 4: inc, sc 5, switch to color B, sc 4, switch to color A, sc 5, inc, sc 14. (32)

Feet (Make 4)

Round 1: Using color A, ch 2. Sc 6 into 2nd ch from hook. (6)

Rounds 2-3: Sc in each st around. (6)

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.

Tail (Make 1)

Round 1: Using color A, ch 2. Sc 6 into 2nd ch from hook. (6)

Rounds 2-6: Sc in each st around. (6)

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.

Bow (Make 1)

Round 1: Using color B, ch 7. Turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc across. (6)

Round 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in 2nd st from hook. Sc across. (6)

Fasten off, weave in ends. Cut a strand of color B (about 8inches) and tie tightly around the center of the bow. wrap around the middle several times and tie again to secure. Do not cut extra strands, they will be used for assembly.

Assembly

Attach the safety eyes between the 7th and 8th rows of the body, about 4 st apart. Using color B sew a small nose starting at row 9, in the center of the eyes.

Using your tapestry needle, sew the bottom of the cat to the body, stuffing as you go. Weave in ends. Sew the feet on four opposite corners of the bottom of the body, stuff very lightly. Weave in ends.

Sew the tail directly under the middle of the stripes on the back of the cat, in the last row of the body. The tail should span about 3 stitches. Do not stuff. Flatten and weave in ends.

Sew the bow directly under either ear. Weave in ends.
